2008 Season

2008 saw the beginning of a new chapter in the history of Deeside Caledonia with many new players joining, and the band winning the sponsorship support of Falck Nutec. Under the new partnership of Pipe Major David Fraser and Leading Drummer George Clark the season was an outstanding success, in which the band travelled as far as Birmingham, Glasgow and Northern Ireland to compete, enjoy the craic and pick up silver ware !

Deeside Caledonia were placed in 5th in the 2008 World Championships held at Glasgow Green, the band also were placed 5th at the British championships in Birmingham and 4th at the Cowal games in Dunoon. The Deeside Caledonia drum corps finished the 2008 on a high as Cowal champions by winning the best drum corps in grade 3A. Closer to home, the band achievements were rewarded by winning the 2008 RSPBA North of Scotland Champion of Champions in Grade 3A. The band are looking to better the 2008 season next year and as such would welcome players with the ambition to join our winning team.
