Deeside lifted its first ever Grade 1 trophy at the Quartets held at St Macher Academy in February 2003. Also in the Grade 1 final were Bucksburn and District - A and Bucksburn and District - B. Despite strong performances from all three quartets, Deeside did enough on the day to take the prize.

The day also saw some excellent piping displays turned in by many of the other bands present, not least Old Meldrum RBL Nov/Juv who won Grade 3. Deeside wishes to express its own message of congratulations to the band on what was a fine performance.

The Victory has put a great feeling throughout the band and was the perfect start to what everyone hopes will be a successful and productive season.
