Aberdeen Games Review 2005

After the possitive result a Turriff, spirits were very high and anything less than 1st place would be a bit of an anticlimax.

I wasn't present for most of the build up as I was working and only arrived 15 minutes before "kick off". When I arrived (on my Scootay chamoan!!) I was handed my pipes and told "They're in tune, but I had to howk the D" I was gutted!! They hadn't moved since Dumbarton but boy were they in tune!!!!

A Lovely day saw us hitting a very good pitch and the sound was spot on!!

On we went, and oh what a performance!!! Not Perfect, but not bad for a Grade 3 band.
Everyone was confident that we could make it 2 wins in a row.

Grade 2 again wasn't as good, which is unusual, as it's normal for us to be better and more relaxed in G2, however, we had a few injuries (Ali the blouse had a sore back ha ha).
I went back to work, and was shocked later that we got 2nd in Grade 3. I'm not trying to sound big headed, but it was 10 times better than our performance at Turriff and we won that! We were also 7th out of 8 in Grade 2.

Never a band to be downbeat, we are now going back to the drawing board, hoping that we can find a way to impress the Judge as we have him at The Worlds. Still, better knowing what we need to do before, rather than after the Worlds.
Our next outingg is a Tain, but before that, we have a week long engagement in Stromness where I'm sure some improvements will be made to stamina, technique and Bonding!
